Returning to Using R-SUCCESS in Your Classroom

Updated: Jan 21, 2022

To say that the COVID-19 pandemic has upended early childhood education is an understatement, and teachers and school staff have been at the forefront, quickly adapting to the ever-changing circumstances related to school closures, remote learning, and the return to in-person learning for all children. The entire R-SUCCESS team would like to extend our gratitude to all early childhood educators, including teachers, paraprofessionals, school administrators, and school staff, for the effort that you have put into ensuring that our youngest learners continue to develop and grow.

We hope that R-SUCCESS can continue to help support you and the children in your classroom. To that end, we have created this website to host all of our training webinars and accompanying resources. If it has been a while since you have shared an oral story, or if you are new to R-SUCCESS, we encourage you to view our training webinar series. Over the last year, we have updated and expanded our collection of R-SUCCESS sample stories, to include more background information to help you with your pre-telling, and activity sheets and sample discussion and drawing/writing prompts to support your post-telling. We have a number of pre-recorded oral stories, with accompanying resources, available, as well, to supplement your oral storytelling. To access all of our training materials and resources, please visit our resources page, which can be found under the 'Login' button at the top of this page. Please note that you will need to log-in to access these materials, and if this is your first time visiting this site, you will need to create an account.

We will be updating this blog periodically with information to help you share oral stories with your class, including quick tips for creating stories, how R-SUCCESS can help to support family engagement, strategies for enhancing children’s comprehension skills, and much more!

If you have any questions about using R-SUCCESS in your classroom, or about accessing materials on our website, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at rsuccess@nyu.edu, or 212-998-5572.
